In the Studio

So, I recently gained access to Tech's photo studio and I had my first shoot two Friday's ago. It was awesome. I actually felt like I could be in a real studio. Still editing those photos but I will share them as soon as I can. I'm currently working on revamping my portfolio for a summer class I want to take in Junction. Space is limited for the class so I'm going to have to buckle down and get this done. My "photo team" and I are planning on doing more photo shoots in the studio, which means I need models! If you are interested email me at jrtravis89@yahoo.com and we will work something out. Thanks for your support.

4th of July Weekend

For this 4th of July weekend my parents and I traveled to Colorado. We went to Colorado Springs for the 2009 Buick Club of America's National Convention. The picture to the left was taken the day before the official car show which was held yesterday. Today we traveled North to Denver, where we spent the morning a an art festival. I thoroughly enjoyed the festival. Many talented artists from the United States and Canada traveled to Denver to be in the festival this weekend. The festival showcased artists from all types media including: photography, sculpture, 3D mixed media, drawing and more.

New Photo Shoot

One Sunday evening about a week ago I went to downtown Lubbock to scout out some new places to take people for photo shoots. I took some test shots of the area and I was quite surprised with the results when edited the photos. Downtown Lubbock provides a great canvas for urban photography which I have really grown to love. I guess I started out as an urban photographer, but I just recently discovered the vast number of possibilities urban photography opens up. I am currently pursuing a degree in Visual Communications with a focus on photography at Texas Tech University. Ultimately, I want to become a high fashion photographer. Probably one of my biggest influences has been Nylon magazine. Nylon is a magazine that caters to the arts and focuses on street fashion and the music scene.
